So, I don't know if this is the right place to post this (but I guess it's random enough) but look where I was last Friday:

This is a place I've wanted to visit for a very long time (ever since I found out about its existence, actually) (because it's actually not all that far away.. Just on the other side of the country but in Switzerland that means a train journey of two or three hours, which is nothing, really.) and I figured what better date to do that than on Friday the 13th? (No, there's really no connection there.)

So, to get to Castiel (the name's origins lie in the rhaeto-romanic language and it means castle (even though there isn't one there)), which is a very, very tiny village (population: 124) smack in the middle of the Swiss mountains. To get there you have to take a train which only stops by request. The train station looks as follows:

And then you have to walk. And walk. And walk. (Okay, it's barely an hour, but whatever.)
The first sign of civilization we spotted after the train station was a cute little church (which, unfortunately enough, was closed). Upon entering the town we saw some people coming out of the also closed retaurant but other than that, there's not much life in Castiel. But it's a wonderful place, peaceful and what not. Here's some more pictures:

("beginning" of the village)

(And this is the other end of the village. Didn't even take us ten minutes to walk through it ^.^ )

(This is the town hall and Castiel's coat of arms (which is kind of awesome.))

(And that's us.)

Yeah. It was fun.
